David Quinn expected to play a bigger role in his return to the New York Rangers coaching staff

The vacuum in New York is left unsealed, as there remain positions to fill for Mike Sullivan. With Muse choosing to take on the Head Coach's role in Pittsburgh, Sullivan will have to figure out how to fill out the rest of his staff.

It's difficult to tell the position a new coach will take, after all, hiring doesn't come quickly, usually. Sometimes they bring their own people along with them, and for the Rangers, David Quinn could be one of them.

This time, as an assistant.

It'd be quite a conundrum considering he's already been here once. But he was on Sullivan's staff in Pittsburgh, and it's difficult not to see him having a shot at a job here as well.

While we don't have to remember Quinn's time here as a coach, because it was anything but spectacular, we could look to the positives if he returns.

In Pittsburgh, Quinn was responsible for the team's successful power-play, which ranked 5th in the NHL this season, with a 25.8% percentage in the NHL.

A pretty great statistic for Quinn, especially if he has to interview elsewhere, it could help him get a foot back in the door here.

The Penguins, with Quinn's help, would score a whopping 57 goals this season.

As we all know, the Rangers had a dismal power-play this past season, and it sounds like Quinn might be the one to help rejuvenate it's life in Madison Square Garden and beyond.
