Jake Guentzel to part ways with Hurricanes after game six elimination
The Carolina Hurricanes failed to seize the opportunity to force game seven after losing to the New York Rangers in game six of the second round.
The Hurricanes acquired Jake Guentzel from the Pittsburgh Penguins at the NHL Trade Deadline. However, Guentzel hinted at parting ways with Hurricanes during post game press as it seems he'll be heading to free agency.
The usually player would refer to his team as «we» and not «they» but during the press Guentzel did not, making it sound like a deal may not be reached with the Canes.
Closing thought from Guentzel: «This team for sure can win the Stanley Cup. They've got everything you need.»
The Hurricanes have their hands full this offseason, trying to prioritize Seth Jarvis after an incredible season along with Martin Necas who priced himself out of Raleigh.
