The Florida Panthers joined 26 other teams this year in winning the ultimate prize, the Stanley Cup, after beating the Edmonton Oilers in seven games on home ice.
They triumphed one year after losing to the Vegas Golden Knights, where Vegas won their first Stanley Cup on their home ice as well.
Well, Florida, like the other 26 teams, sent a package to the Hockey Hall of Fame, with cup winning goodies such as game worn jerseys and game used helmets, gloves, and more. However, one item was a little odd. The item was Tkachuk's mouthpiece that he used throughout the NHL playoffs.
Now, Tkachuk doesn't necessarily «use» the mouthpiece. He chews on it the entire game, which is why when you see the close up, the end is all beat up.
Either way, that mouthpiece is now etched in hockey history forever.
