Major Development: Original six organization strips veteran of his captaincy
A unexpected announcement was made Monday morning, that an original six organization has stripped NHL veteran of his captaincy.
Recent reports from various NHL insiders confirmed that Toronto Maple Leafs are stripping John Tavares of his captaincy, and will be naming Auston Matthews as their new captain.
This type of move is very fitting for the Maple Leafs organization as they've been making drastic changes all season, like hiring Craig Berube as their head coach. Along with the fact that Tavares is nearing the end of his contract with the Leafs.
Do you think the Maple Leafs made the right decision by naming Matthews as their next Captain?
