The New York Rangers rivals just made a massive announcement on the day of the 2024 NHL Draft.
The Philadelphia Flyers must be gearing up to make massive moves this offseason as they just announced that they've bought out the final year of Cam Atkinson's contract.
Roster update: The Flyers will buy out the remainder of the contract of forward Cam Atkinson, according to General Manager, Daniel Brière.
As the Flyers announced, Cam Atkinson is on unconditional waivers for the purposes of a buyout
NEWS: #LetsGoFlyers to buyout Cam Atkinson. Had 1 year left at $5.875M
Buyout cap hit, per @PuckPedia : 2024/25: $2,358,333 2025/26: $1,758,333
This will definitely help out the Flyers as they will be saving over $3 million this year, which will allow them to make more trades. Atkinson didn't have the greatest season as he recorded 28 points in 70 games with the Flyers last season.
Now that Atkinson is an unrestricted free agent he can officially sign with any NHL teams that are willing to give him an offer.
Do you think the New York Rangers should offer Atkinson a deal?
