Worse Than Expected: Concussion Speculation Sparks As The New York Rangers Place Carson Soucy On IR

The New York Rangers have just confirmed that Carson Soucy's scary incident on Saturday night is worse than expected after he collided head first into the boards.
On Saturday night, New York Rangers defenseman Carson Soucy was forced to leave the game early in the second period after being tangled up with Pittsburgh Penguins forward Rickard Rakell, and colliding head first into the boards.

Not longer after the third period started the Rangers Carson Soucy wasn't seen on the Rangers bench, which lead to the New York Rangers to announce on social media that he would be sidelined for the remainder of the game with an upper-body injury.
UPDATE: Carson Soucy (upper body) will not return tonight.
New York Rangers Place Carson Soucy On Injured Reserve (IR)
The following day on Sunday morning, several reports broke out that have stated the New York Rangers have placed the veteran defenseman on IR, confiming he will be out for a significant amount of time.
#NYR Carson Soucy listed on IR on official media site. Connor Mackey has been added to roster.
Not to jump to any conclusions but it's very possible that he has sustained a concussion after the way he collided into the boards, it's very unlikely that the New York Rangers will give any conformation on this but its a possibility.
Along with that Connor Mackey has been recalled from the Hartford Wolf Pack, but it hasn't been confirmed if he or Robertson will be filling in for Soucy.
