Three unexpected teams emerge as frontrunners to acquire New York Rangers veteran
Three unexpected Stanley Cup contenders have emerged has possible suitors to acquire New York Rangers veteran forward at the March trade deadline.
As the New York Rangers are currently on a break due to the 4 Nations Face-Off, they have been given time to figure out who will likely be moved before the trade deadline as they don't hold a playoff spot.
So with that being said, one player who has been surrounded by trade speculation is New York Rangers veteran winger
Reilly Smith.
According to recent reports they're three teams that will be interested in his skills.
Three teams that have emerged as possible landing spots for Rangers veteran forward Reilly Smith
The Minnesota Wild have been named a team to watch in the Smith sweeptakes, as they could desperately use another middle-six winger and veteran with playoff experience.
Along with that he could even replace
Vinnie Hinostroza on the second line and would easily be an option for their power play unit with his playmaking skills.
Next would be the Kings, a team who have been looking to improve at the right wing position, so Smith could be a player who grabs their attention.
Providing their organization with a middle six forward who has plenty of postseason experience, and someone who can put up points as he currently has 10 goals and 16 assists in 54 games played.
Now finally, his former team the Golden Knights. Recently there has been a ton of speculation of Reilly returning to the team he previously won a Stanley Cup and spent six-years of his career with.
The 33-year old winger would certainly provide the Knights with a much needed right-winger.
