Unhappy with how he's been treated by the New York Rangers, Calvin de Haan didn't spare fans the anger that arose due to his mistreatment. Now, it appears he's clearing the air on "X".

During practice today, Calvin de Haan was given a minute to speak regarding the end of the season he's spent with the Rangers.
De Haan's been scratched for 18 games, and has been a regular scratch in the lineup with Zac Jones. Like Jones, he was vocal about his frustration with his mistreatment, and felt he wasn't getting a fair shake in New York.
It's a reasonable concern for a journeyman in the NHL who has played for multiple teams during his career.
He loves the sport of hockey, but while he's not making Connor McDavid money, he wants to earn it. But you can't do that on the bench, and having only played 3 games this season for the Rangers, he wasn't shy about how he felt.
Now, after he let loose in the presence of The Athletic's Peter Baugh and the New York Post's Mollie Walker, he has walked back his comments.
Honestly, he's not wrong in how he's approached the situation. In the short time he's been with the team, he's contributed with an assist and been a role player in one of the team's wins, although the way he talks, he's trying to remain humble.
In the greater scheme of things, depth defenseman like bottom-six forwards are seen as interchangeable for NHL franchises.
It may be as simple as that, as Matthew Robertson will get a look over Zac Jones and Calvin de Haan, while Braden Schneider is nursing an injury.
If only GM Chris Drury and Peter Laviolette had a clear vision of what the team should look like and play like, maybe this wouldn't be happening to both veteran and sophomore players.
Instead, we've got a mess in Madison Square Garden, and we're not sure Calvin de Haan is to blame for the organizational failures.
