It been reported by Arthur Staple of the Athletic feels that the New York Rangers can land Vancouver Canucks winger Brock Boeser to a three-year deal worth $6 million per season.

This low number Is a bit surprising considering what Boeser could bring to the table, but he has had a major struggle throughout his last few years and may impact what teams will be willing to pay for.

Boeser has Several reasons to sign with the New York Rangers

Staple explains that Boeser Would like to be reunited with former Vancouver Canucks and now New York Ranger returnee J.T. Miller. It appears that both players enjoyed playing with one another in Vancouver and adding a scoring winger like Boeser would help the Rangers solve their offensive woes.
He also feels that Boeser would like to play for newly hired head coach Mike Sullivan as Sullivan's style of an aggressive forecheck and high offence is exactly what he may need to reignite his career.
The 28-year-old right winger who has played his entire career with the Canucks was drafted by the team in 2015, first round 23rd overall.
Boeser saw a sharp decline in his numbers as his stat line revealed 75 games played this year, scoring 25 goals with 25 assists for 50 points along with 16 penalty minutes. Last season was far better where he played 81 games, scoring 40 goals with 33 assists for 73 points and was a + 14.

Boeser likely to test free agency with Rangers certainly interested

It's safe to say that he needs a change of scenery and it's highly unlikely that he will return to the West Coast.
Several teams including the Toronto Maple Leafs, Montreal Canadiens, Chicago Blackhawks and the Rangers are all likely to inquire about Boeser as some teams are either adding pieces to their already impressive lineup, replacing players who may head off to free agency add a lower cost and adding a franchise piece as the team is currently rebuilding.
It would certainly be a home run if the Rangers were able to lock him in at that kind of price as the upside would be still quite large and could give him a chance to reset his career.
It will be a fascinating time for the Rangers as general manager Chris Drury has stated that significant changes are needed for the team to move forward especially with Sullivan arriving with a different culture and different style.
The team now will focus on evaluation, the NHL Entry Draft and the July 1st free agency as the Rangers are now in full offseason mode by the NHL slowly switches gears to the Eastern and Western Conference finals.
