The New York Rangers and Vancouver Canucks seem to be regular trading partners. That isn't going to stop anytime soon, if GM Chris Drury could tap into the Canucks organization as they ponder a trade for Chris Kreider.

GM Patrik Allvin will look to bolster the Vancouver Canucks ranks with a trade target from the Rangers earlier in the year. That could be Chris Kreider who could find himself on the Canucks top-six if Allvin has his way.
According to Canucks Insiders Donnie and Dhali, GM Patrik Allvin inquired about the availability of gritty forward, Chris Kreider in December.
"Someone told me the Canucks called the Rangers about Chris Kreider. But my guess is Vancouver is probably on Kreider's no-trade list - he's got a healthy one, I think, 15 teams. Rangers sent out feelers that Kreider and [Jacob] Trouba were available, so every team called, including the Canucks." Dhaliwal said.

The 13-year Ranger veteran could bolster the team's offense on the top-line, and be a great addition, as a net front presence on the Canucks power-play.

Is Chris Kreider Ready for A Trade?

As a 13-year veteran only as a Blueshirt, Kreider didn't bank on being on the trade block earlier this year. However, GM Chris Drury's ruthlessness put him out there earlier this season, but an injury tanked his value.
Since his production has declined as multiple 30+ goal seasons in the NHL, it has become painfully aware that the Rangers, consider him and some of his other teammates as trade pieces.
According to Larry Brooks of the New York Post, a split could be coming to a head in July.
"There is a strong sense that the feeling is mutual and that after 13 years with the organization, Kreider recognizes that the relationship has run its course and that he needs a fresh start." Brooks said.,

Kreider has been a Ranger since he was drafted 19th overall by the organization in 2009. He'd find himself playing in the Stanley Cup playoffs, soon after he arrived from Boston College.
While Kreider desires to remain in New York, we all know how Chris Drury and this business works. Money and talent first, the human element last.
Kreider, during the exit interview, gave an emotional answer that resonates with people: New York is his home.
"This is home for me. This is the organization that gave me an opportunity to live out my dream. I've developed so many incredible relationships and grown up and spent so much time in this area. So, obviously, this is where I want to be and this is the group that I want to help in whatever fashion win hockey games." Kreider said.

Kreider has two-years remaining on his $6.5 million AAV deal with the Rangers. In order to make a deal happen, GM Chris Drury will have to sell Kreider on the Canucks future, and Adam Foote, their new Head Coach.

LIke the Rangers, the Canucks are team with many moving parts, and no established case of winning, aside from 2023-2024 with Rick Tocchet at the helm.

This season, Kreider scored a total of 30 points (22 goals, 8 assists) in 68 games with the Rangers.

A split between the two would mean the end of an era in New York and a sign that the status quo in the locker room is done and buried.
