A recent report from the Daily Faceoff's Frank Seravalli explains that pending unrestricted free agent Brock Boeser Is poised to hit the open market.
Seravalli has projected Boeser's new salary at a six-year deal worth $8.5 million per season which will be a raise of $1.85 million for the 28-year-old forward.
Rangers interested in the Canucks winger
Boeser had a reduction in his offense this season and has been unhappy with
the Vancouver Canucks as the team was in turmoil all season, missed the playoffs and traded one of his favorite players in
J.T. Miller to the Rangers.
General manager Chris Drury is likely to take a run at Boeser as he would like to change the complexion of his team and give it a different look especially with new head coach Mike Sullivan.
Boeser has played his entire career with the Canucks which began in 2016 and during this season, he had played 75 games, scoring 25 goals with 25 assists for 50 points but was a dreadful -25 with 16 penalty minutes.
Boeser would flourish with the Rangers
Adding a player like Boeser would give
the Rangers speed, and the ability to put the puck in the net especially on the power play and five on five.
Mike Sullivan is expecting to make major changes to the style of this team which will be more aggressive on the forecheck and play better defensively.
The Rangers are currently in a cap crunch but it's safe to say that the team is willing to move certain players in order to make it all fit and adding a player of Boeser's capabilities will give Rangers fans something to cheer about.
Free agency will begin on Canada day on July 1st at 12:00 PM eastern.
