An NHL insider has just named New York Rangers offensive prospect as a top 10 trade candidate amid ongoing trade speculation surrounding his name early in the 2025-26 season.
Earlier this month Elliotte Friedman had revealed New York Rangers forward
Brennan Othmann has been gaining a ton of interest early into the 2025 season, along with this Friedman has also confirmed the organization's official asking price.
The 22-year old winger is a former first-round draft pick of the New York Rangers has they selected him with the 16th overall pick of the 2021 NHL Entry Draft. So it's safe to assume the Rangers will want a decent return for him.
Resulting in the New York Rangers to ask any interested organization for "good AHL prospects" in return for Othmann.
Something they just might be able to pull off considering another insider has listed Othmann as a top 10 trade candidate.
Brennan Othmann Cracks Top 10 Trade Candidate List: Per Chris Johnston
Rasmus Andersson, Calgary Flames, D
Bryan Rust, Pittsburgh Penguins, F
Rickard Rakell, Pittsburgh Penguins, F
Alex Tuch, Buffalo Sabres, F
Jean-Gabriel Pageau, New York Islanders, C
Jaden Schwartz, Seattle Kraken, F
Jamie Oleksiak, Seattle Kraken, D
Mario Ferraro, San Jose Sharks, D
Nick Robertson, Toronto Maple Leafs, F
Brennan Othmann, New York Rangers, F
it's honestly a bit surprising to see Othmann be named as a top 10 trade candidate considering he hasn't shown much promise in the NHL as he currently only has two assists in 26 NHL games played with the Rangers.
