"Most Talented Goalie In The League": NHL Analyst Stuns Fans With Latest Statement On Igor Shesterkin

Igor Shesterkin is the highest-paid goalie in the NHL, making $11.5 million per season. His total contract value is $92 million over the next eight years.
He secured the deal, being one of the best goalies in the NHL, after being the netminder who led the team to the Presidents' Trophy in 2023-24.
A season in which he had a record of 36-17-2, 2.65 GAA, and a .913 SV%.
In the President's Trophy year, we saw a New York Rangers team that was uncanny and had the temerity to win games they shouldn't have. But the curse is real.
Shesterkin would see a significant decline in production this year, but would still mask the Rangers' deficiencies on the blueline. Which Cory Schneider of the NHL Network noticed.
NHL Network put him at #3 in the top ten goalies of the league. But given how much they're complimenting him, but have failed to recognize his true potential.
It sounds like this segment, Shesterkin was blamed for the team playing in front of him. Which isn't fair to the Rangers goalie, who is a Vezina Trophy winner, and hasn't had a season in his career below .900 SV%.
"I think [Igor Shesterkin], for my money, is the most talented goalie in the league." - Cory Schneider
If he is the most talented goalie in the league, why is he ranked below the #1 from this year?
Recency bias is the answer we're looking for.
