The New York Rangers are in a rock and a hard place, as they need to earn every point to make it to the playoffs. With the New York Islanders and Montreal Canadiens ahead of them, maybe it is a foregone conclusion.

Former Vancouver Canucks Head Coach Bruce Boudreau was so ashamed of the Rangers' effort last night, he thinks they aren't built for the playoffs.
And who can blame him, the team has been unable to mount a comeback against opponents like the Calgary Flames, and the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Two playoff-bound teams that the Blue Shirts were unable to shut down.
Peter Laviolette's Rangers have gone 3-5-2 in their last ten games this season.
Boudreau feels like a Junior Hockey team could've handled the Rangers with ease after getting waxed 4-3 by the Maple Leafs.
The team would barely hold on last night, even though near the end they did outshoot Auston Matthews' Maple Leafs 30-28, but would commit the sin of too many giveaways 21-12 compared to the Leafs.
Not only that they'd leave Igor Shesterkin out to dry in a familiar scenario, saving 24 shots on 28 shots against.
While leaving him vulnerable enough for the Leafs to score four goals.
Shesterkin would leave Madison Square Garden with a .857 save percentage, and disappoint Rangers fans worldwide.
It's not difficult to see what Bruce Boudreau saw last night, especially with those numbers.
The Rangers are 2 points back from the Montreal Canadiens, and 5 out from the 1st wild card spot which is held by the Ottawa Senators.
