Chris Kreider's agent opens up and shares his shocking opinion on the trade between Rangers and Ducks
Former New York Rangers Chris Kreider's agent Matt Keator discussed the trade that sent Kreider to the Anaheim Ducks with The Sick Podcast.
The deal took place several days ago when the New York Rangers sent Kreider to the Anaheim Ducks in exchange for prospect
Carey Terrance and a swap of draft picks.
Keator was very pleased with Chris Drury's handling of trade
During the interview, Keator explained to Tony Marinaro, but he was very impressed with how New York Rangers general manager Chris Drury handled the trade with steady open communication and a meeting discussing a list of teams, but Kreider would be willing to be traded to.
Keator also felt that this trade was necessary for Kreider as he had been with the Rangers for 13 years and he felt it was time to move on as he has desire to win and feels that the Anaheim Ducks will become a contender in a very short period.
Speculation has been circling around the ducks over the past couple of weeks as many feel that the team will be making significant strides this offseason as they attempt to acquire several unrestricted free agents including Toronto Maple Leafs star winger
Mitch Marner.
"Change can be refreshing for a player, and I think in Chris' case, it's going to be very refreshing" - Matt Keator
Rangers looking to make more changes in the coming weeks
The team and the organization have made it clear to the fan base that major changes are for the Rangers roster as they are still reeling from their playoff miss after becoming the President's Trophy winner one year prior.
He also has changed his entire bench as former Rangers assistant coach Mike Sullivan will now be taking over the reins and the team has rehired Dave Quinn who was head coach before Gerald Gallant.
More changes are in order, and it remains to be seen on how well the Rangers will fare, but one thing is for certain the team will not look the same going forward and general manager Drury hopes his changes will be enough for a long-sustained playoff run for many years.
