Very tragic news strikes the hockey community once again, as a young 17-year old goaltender Madelyne Duval suddenly passed away.
Reports have surfaced confirming that Seventeen-year-old goaltender Madelyne Duval of the 18U Clarence Rockland Lightning and former Glengarry Highlander has sadly passed away after being involved in a very tragic car accident.
It was sadly revealed that Madelyn passed away as a result of the injuries she suffered while being involved in a car crash on Thursday, which was unfortunately revealed by a teammate's parent.
"It is with a heavy heart that I'm writting this morning to inform the team that last night Maddy was involved in a car accident and unfortunately succumbed to her injuries. I would like to offer my sincerest condolences to Kim and her family. I encourage the girls to reach out and support each other in these trying times."

Madelyne had a true passion and gift for playing nets, and was described as a very talented goalie. Truly a significant loss for the hockey community along with women's sports. Since her passing was announced friends and family have been sharing their support and condolences.
"Our deepest condolences to his family and the entire team. May she rest in peace! A very good goalkeeper!"
