Pittsburgh Penguins sign Rangers goalie to a PTO
The Pittsburgh Penguins have been hunting for bargain talent available, and they have found a goalie from the Kitchener Rangers and signed him to the PTO.
Richardson started his junior hockey career in 2015, bouncing between the GJOHL's Kitchener Dutchman and the OHL's Kitchener Rangers.
In 2023-2024 he'd play in the ECHL with the Greenville Swamp Rabbits where he played 12 games, winning 7 of them, with a 2.19 GAA, and a .931 save percentage.

Richardson would prove to be a great netminder, with a 5-1 win over the Savannah Ghost Pirates on April 14. He'd help the Swamp Rabbits clinch a spot in the playoffs, along with the South Divisional title in the ECHL.
In the playoffs, he'd win both games, with a 2.38 GAA, and an .936 save percentage.
In an interesting coincidence, the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins goalie coach Kain Tisi was Richardson's coach in the OHL.
With a PTO, Richardson has a chance to play in the AHL with the Penguins organization.
The Penguins could have a decent 3rd goalie in the AHL with Richardson, should he continue the hot streak he had in Kitchener.
