Former Stanley Cup Champion and NHL veteran has officially announced his retirement after 17 seasons in the league.

Kyle Okposo has decided to call it a career after finally securing a Stanley Cup victory last season with the Florida Panthers. Okposo was originally drafted 6th overall by the New York Islanders back in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft.
Without a doubt Okposo has had a remarkable career, playing over 1,000 NHL career games with the Islanders and Sabres, until this past season as he was traded to the Florida Panthers and finally added a Stanley Cup victory to his resume.
In a very heartwarming statement, Okposo expressed his gratitude and thanked many people who were by his side throughout his career. However the veteran will now retire from the NHL after playing 1,051 games, tallying 242 goals and 614 points.
