New York Rangers: Jakub Vrana returns to the NHL after signing new contract
Unrestricted free agent looking to make a return with his former team after four-years of being separated.
Jakub Vrana was once a rival of the New York Rangers from 2016-2020, and is now looking to make a return to the Washington Capitals as he signed a professional tryout (PTO) with the organization.
Vrana started his NHL career back in 2016 with the Washington Capitals and was later traded to the Detroit Red Wings in a blockbuster trade involving Anthony Mantha in 2021.
Once he joined the Red Wings he signed a three-year contract worth $16 million, but missed a ton time due to injury and the fact he entered the NHL's Player Assistance Program.
Unfortunately Vrana was waived and then traded to the St. Louis Blues but once again missed time due to an undisclosed reason.
He played the remind of the 2024 season in the KHL in the AHL with the Springfield Thunderbirds.
