The New York Rangers and Anaheim Ducks officially complete a trade after a surprising condition was met
Unfortunately the Rangers season derailed early in the season, and despite serval changes to the organization things only got worse.
Which ultimately led to General Manager Chris Drury to shake up the team's roster, and after weeks of rumours and trade speculation surrounding the team, Drury made the decision to trade his captain Jacob Trouba to the Anaheim Ducks.
In return for Jacob Trouba, the New York Rangers received defenseman Urho Vaakaninen and a conditional fourth round pick.
That condition is that it would be the lower of two 4th round picks the Ducks own this year, their own and Detroit's.
However, now that the regular season is coming to an end, it has been confirmed that Detroit will finish above the Ducks in standings, confirming that the Rangers will receive Detroits 4th round selection in the 2025 NHL Draft.
Since joining the Ducks, Trouba has just 1 goal and 8 points in 50 games, giving him 14 points in 74 games on the season.
