Back on Friday, September 19, superstar forward
Artemi Panarin suffered a lower-body injury during New York Rangers Training Camp, and since missed a few practices because of it.
However, the 33-year old forward's injury doesn't appear to be a major issued for the organization, as Artemi Panarin himself spoke to the media and gave a very encouraging update regarding his injury.
«Just a lower-body (injury), I'll be alright soon,» Panarin said. «It's so much better, almost there.»
Certainly something the Rangers are still taking serious as Panarin also missed training camp last with a minor lower-body injury. Given his age it's important the Rangers give him the right time to heal.
Artemi Panarin To Make An Appearance In The Preseason Before Opening-Night?
On Friday, Panarin returned to practice, but was wearing a red non-contact jersey despite being cleared to give and receive contact. However, Mike Sullivan confirmed that he would like to see Panarin make an appearance in the preseason when the time is right.
«In a perfect world, we'd like to get him into a game or two,» Sullivan said. «But a lot of it is going to depend on where he is. Certainly, we'll err on the side of caution.»
Panarin even had a similar comment to Sullivan's about getting in some preseason action before the regular season kicks off.
«For sure, for sure before the season starts I would love to play a couple (preseason) games,»
Panarin emphasized. «Just trying to be there, dealing with a little issue. If we are quick enough, I will play.»
