New York Rangers fan favourite enforcer is ready to prove to everyone that he's capable of doing more this upcoming season.

The Rangers young enforcer, Matt Rempe. started off the preseason on the right foot as he had head coach Mike Sullivan praise his performance and development. Something that Rempe wants to continue to work on this season.
«I want to turn into not being known as an enforcer,» Rempe said, via Newsday's Colin Stephenson. «I want to be turned into, 'This guy's a really good young power forward who also can fight.'"

The 24-year old enforcer made it very clear that he still values his role as an enforcer, but he would like to stop doing the 'staged bouts' and taking on every teams strongest guy. Instead he said he would like play his game and drop the gloves when it's needed.
«I want to be done with 'stage fighting,'» Rempe said. «If I'm being so effective that I have to fight because I've had eight real great hits in a game, or something like that, then I'll do that.

«But me going to a game and just fight someone, that's not helping me.»

Matt Rempe Has Showed Us He's Capable Of Doing More

During the New York Rangers preseason opener, a 5-3 victory against the New Jersey Devils, Matt Rempe truly displayed his his growth form the offseason.
Rempe managed to burst through two defenders and created the Rangers' second goal, something that Mike Sullivan was quite impressed with.
«I thought Remps had a great game,» Sullivan said, according to Mollie Walker, of The New York Post. «He was really strong on pucks. He hangs onto pucks down low. He made good decisions when plays weren't there off the rush. He would drive pucks low, and he would go to work down underneath the hashmarks. When he does that, I think he's a handful for our opponents.»

It's clear that Rempe is ready to take on the 2025-26 season with a new attitude and mindset, something fans should be really excited about.
