Rangers May Have Lost, But The Flyers Had A Much Worse Night
The Rangers lost 6-3 against the Vancouver Canucks in another lackluster defensive effort.
But the Philadelphia Flyers were the true losers of tonight. Losing 4-1 against the Pittsburgh Penguins, and worse yet, trading away a very promising prospect in Cutter Gauthier for Jamie Drysdale and a 2025 2nd round pick from the Anaheim Ducks.
Sources say Gauthier informed the Flyers organization he did not want to play in Philadelphia.
Flyers president of hockey operations Keith Jones spoke on the Gauthier trade:
"You don't want to be a Flyer, you're not going to be a Flyer. We were very pleased with the return we got."
Flyers general manager Danny Brière, explained his knowledge of the decision made by Cutter Gauthier not to negotiate a contract to join the Flyers:
