Mika Zibanejad praises Jimmy Vesey during media scrum

The Rangers are a team that are riding high and that brings praise and compliments from all the players. Rangers star Mika Zibanejad gave such praise two Rangers forward Jimmy Vesey after the Rangers beat the Montreal Canadiens 5-2.

Vesey assisted on Mika's goal which put the Rangers up for dash 2 with four minutes remaining in the third period as he was placed on the top line. Vesey, who was drafted in 2012 by the Nashville Predators in the third round, 66th overall played for the Rangers early on in his career for three seasons. During that time, he gave modest points and was constantly a third line or fourth line player.

After spending time with the Sabres, Leafs, Canucks and Devils, Vesey found his way back to the Rangers and has spent the last two seasons with the team and has found a defensive role and penalty killing as part of his game.

Through 76 games, he has scored thirteen goals with 13 assists for 26 points and is a - 1 with 20 penalty minutes.

Vesey's play will become important as the first-round looms. Players like him will become elevated as the top lines will shut down due to defensive hockey.
