However, the Rangers failed season resulted in head coach Peter Laviolette to be fired, leaving the organization to now search for a new head coach this offseason.
While on the search for a new coach, there was recently some speculation on social media on Wednesday (Apr. 23) about the New York Rangers potentially having found their new head coach.
Hearing from a source John Tortorella will be joining the Rangers.
As the tweet circulated on X, a trusted New York Rangers insider Arthur Staple, along with other sources quickly revealed that this was not the case, and that the report was false.
Unfortunately at this time, there has been no real reports indicating that the New York Rangers will be hiring Tortorella or that they are even interested in bringing him back.
Several big name insiders like Elliotte Friedman, Daren Dreger have not mentioned anything regarding the Rangers and Tortorella being linked at the moment.
