New York Rangers Trade Deadline approach is reportedly set to change following latest development

The New York Rangers are currently two points out of a wildcard spot in the East. With two injuries hitting the roster at an inopportune time, GM Chris Drury will have to revise his trade strategy.
The New York Rangers will have to find a way to make it into the Stanley Cup playoffs by wildcard placement.
That'll require them to earn two points in a regulation victory, and then hold onto the spot before the playoffs begin.
Not a monumental task for last year's Rangers squad who won the President's Trophy, but this year's could be a tall ask.
With that, and injuries piling up of
Adam Fox, and
K'Andre Miller he may have to adjust his strategy in March to account for them.
During their 5-1 victory over the New York Islanders on Tuesday night, both K'Andre Miller and Adam Fox went down with injuries.
Miller's came in the second period when he very quietly left the game without any clear moment of him getting hurt.
Not only did Miller exit the game early, but so did Fox.
Adam Fox fell hard to the ice in the third period as he was laboring his left shoulder, clearly in pain before quickly rushing to the locker room.
He did not return and was ruled out with an upper-body injury.
The Rangers will have to take a look at possible rentals for the next stretch of games in order to figure out how to maintain relevancy in a competitive Metropolitan Division.
With the Columbus Blue Jackets and Washington Capitals just being one of many rivals they'll have to face pickings for defensemen on both left and right-side could be slim.
However, this does open up Drury to have a dialogue with GM Kyle Dubas and the Penguins regarding
Erik Karlsson's availability.
While he may be past his prime, he could fill one hole in the lineup that a call-up couldn't long-term.
The only question is, will it cost an arm and a leg to acquire the veteran defenseman from Pittsburgh?
I would call him right away, even if it was as a rental.
