The New York Rangers have just announced that they've signed another defenseman

New York Rangers President and general manager, Chris Drury announced that the organization had agreed to terms with defenseman, Matthew Robertson on a one-year contract extension.

The 23-year old defender, skated in 68 games for the Hartford Wolf Pack of the AHL in the 2023-24 season, tally a total of 21 points (4 goals, 17 assists).

Among all the Wolf Pack's defenders, Robertson ranked second in games played, third in assists and points, tied for third in goals, and first in shots on goal (131).

The 6-4, 209 pound, Edmonton, Alberta native was originally selected by the Rangers in the second round, 49th overall, of the 2019 NHL Draft.

Robertson has played three seasons with the Wolf Pack, managing 55 points (10 goals, 45 assists) in 190 games played. During the 2023-24 season he established a AHL career high in goals (5), assists (18) and points (23).
