Recent Injury plague forces the New York Rangers to make a series of shocking lineup changes
The New York Rangers have made some shocking lineups changes today during the morning practice as they are dealing with a series of unfortunate injuries.
As the New York Rangers hit the ice for their morning practice today, there was a few noticeable changes to their lineups as
J.T. Miller and
Adam Fox were not there for their own reasons.
It was confirmed that J.T. Miller wasn't at practice due to illness and Fox is obviously not at practice as he's dealing with an upper-body injury that he suffered from Tuesday night's game against the New York Islanders.
Update on the Miller's. K'Andre skating in non-contact. JT sick, not here today.
Due to several injuries and players missing the New York Rangers and head coach Peter Laviolette had no choice but to switch up the lineups.
New York Rangers lineup changes as they deal with a series of injuries
The New York Rangers have made changes to their defensive pairs, power play units and even their offensive lines.
A quick look at the Rangers defensive changes:
#NYR forward lines look like this:
Panarin-Trocheck-Lafrenière
Kreider-Zibanejad-Cuylle
Othmann-Brodzinski-Rempe
Vesey-Carrick-Smith
Kaliyev skating with Robertson, there's been some rotation in the bottom six too
And finally their power play units, this one is a bit of a shocker as Laviolette has decided to run five forwards on the first power-play unit:
With Adam Fox on IR, the Rangers are running a power play with five forwards: Zibanejad, Panarin, Kreider, Trocheck and Lafreniere. Remember, J.T. Miller (sick) isn't practicing.
Hopefully this is the right move as the New York Rangers are set to take on the Toronto Maple Leafs Friday night at 7:00PM.
