On Saturday, June, 1st the New York Rangers season had ended, and the disappointment reverberated through the locker room.

The team won the President's Trophy this season, confirming the ongoing curse. The team lost the series 4-2, confirming their 55-23-4 record, meant nothing during the post-season.

Igor Shesterkin, who was left out to dry, and put his heart and soul into the playoffs, suffered a huge letdown.
He kept the Rangers in games, they had no business being in and remains the team's #1 goalie, an elite performer.
Shesterkin only had 2 losses in a 10-6 record, with a 2.34 GAA, and .927 save percentage.
After the loss, the two embraced and Vincent Troecheck was asked about the words exchanged between the teammates.
Vincent Trocheck was asked about consoling Igor Shesterkin at the end of Game 6:

"I just told him he was our best player and he deserved better."
It was disheartening to see Shesterkin so distraught, but we hope he decides on an extension in New York.
