The New York Rangers play-by-play announcer Sam Rosen will retire at the end of the season. But ending it without a playoff run would be too soon for Rosen, who made a heartbreaking admission, especially if the Rangers can't back him up.

The New York Rangers will need to play their heart out if they're going to make it to the Stanley Cup playoffs in 2025.
However, this team at times looks disengaged, and disheveled. Nothing like the team who conquered the regular season in 2023-2024.
With the Rangers' play-by-play announcer Sam Rosen retiring after 40 years not only will he get a chance to relax, but he'd like to see his team go out with a bang.
Unlike the flutter, we may get if Peter Laviolette and team is unable to make it into a wild card spot in the East.
Rosen's comment on the topic is hopeful, but saddening as the team could end up disappointing him with how they've played recently.
"Every game I look forward to. I look forward to every game now til the end of the season. I'm trying to drag this team into the playoffs with me. I walk around the locker room at practice giving them encouragement, 'Come on guys! You can do it!"
While hope is infectious it's unfortunately not in the Rangers locker room, as we could end up in the playoffs, and not see him call an Artemi Panarin power-play goal.
"They're not listening to me," admitted Rosen. "But hopefully that'll change in the next couple of weeks."

Not even Chris Kreider who was seen in a video congratulating him on his retirement has punched above his weight this season and has contributed to a meaningful effort to regain ground loss this season.
The comments are sad, as we could see Rosen who has been a longtime Rangers fan end his tenure with the team disappointed.
His career was legendary, and he has called memorable games since he started in Madison Square Garden.
Thankfully the New York Rangers were able to pull off a 5-3 victory for Sam Rosen's big special day.
