Peter Laviolette reveals his true colours towards the New York Rangers with his job on the line
New York Rangers head coach Peter Laviolette opens up and speaks out on his job security after having a disastrous season and missing the playoffs.
Recently there has been a ton of speculation regarding the New York Rangers firing head coach Peter Laviolette after failing to lead the Rangers to the playoffs this season.
The Rangers only have two more games remaining of the season after they were officially eliminated from the playoffs after losing 7-3 to the Carolina Hurricanes on Saturday evening.
The New York Rangers now sit at a 37-36-7 record with only two games remaining, after just winning the Presidents Trophy last season, which has resulted in many wanted the organization to fire head coach Peter Laviolette and even General Manager Chris Drury.
Peter Laviolette addresses his job security
However, during a recent interview with Peter Baugh, Peter Laviolette got brutally honest while talking about his job security after having a rough season, here's what he said:
«Everything gets looked at when a year is not good like this. I'm not blind to anything. I love being here with these guys and the New York Rangers. It's a year when everything went right to a year where things didn't go right. »
He then continued:
Laviolette continued: «When things don't go right, I'm sure everything gets looked at. I'm not naive.»
He said he wants to be in New York.
It should definitely be an interesting offseason for the New York Rangers when they look to make changes.
