New York rangers top trade candidate facing major suspension following brutal headshot during latest game

New York Rangers top trade target Trevor Zegras of the Anaheim Ducks has sparked quite the bit of controversy following his latest hit during Sunday night's game against the Detroit Red Wings.
Recently the New York Rangers have been linked to the Ducks former first round pick, Trevor Zegras as a one-for-one trade proposal had emerged back on February 8th.
But as of recently that top trade candidate has found himself in a bit of trouble as he threw a brutal headshot on Detroit Red Wings first round-pick Micheal Rasmussen during Sunday night's game.
Here's a reverse angle of the Zegras hit on Rasmussen, an angle which wasn't shown on the Ducks broadcast (there were a few production issues for Victory+ tonight.)
Definitely a hit that sparks controversy throughout the hockey community. However NHL Insider Frank Seravalli revealed that Trevor Zegras is expected to have a hearing with the Department of Player Safety as it was a «clear cut hit to the head».

Frank Seravalli was correct, as about an hour later the NHL Department of Player Safety issued an announcement.

On Monday afternoon, the NHL Player Safety made an announcement on X, confirming that Ducks forward Trevor Zegras will in fact of a hearing at some point for «interference» on Micheal Rasmussen.
Anaheim's Trevor Zegras will have a hearing today for interference against Detroit's Michael Rasmussen.
