The summer was marked by disappointment, as forward Brett Berard would be unable to participate in the IIHF World Championship due to a shoulder injury. Instead of undergoing surgery, he required radical rest and has since recovered, giving him a chance to participate in the New York Rangers training camp.

The New York Rangers' Brett Berard's season ended disappointingly. He'd play 35 games in the NHL and would score 10 points (6-4) as a Blueshirt.
Yet he'd be unable to participate in international competition later at the end of the season due to a prolonged injury. An injury that fortunately didn't require surgery.

Full details of Brett Berard's injury that left him sidelined for a bit

According to Mollie Walker of The New York Post, Brett Berard was forced to pull out of the 2025 IIHF Men's World Championship due to physical limitations.

Walker reports that Berard's agent has been in touch with the International Ice Hockey Federation and Team USA regarding his client sitting out of the international tournament for what appears to be a minor issue

Berard, one Blueshirt, wasn't able to join his teammates to compete for a gold medal in the annual IIHF tournament.
Along with this, Vince Z. Mercogliano reported that the injury occured on November 30th when the New York Rangers faced the Montreal Canadiens, but he only missed a little bit of time because he didn't want to ruin his opportunity with the New York Rangers.

Healthy and Ready For Training Camp

But now, it appears that he'll be healthy in time for Rangers training camp at the end of the year.
Looking to build on his formative last season, which saw him post 10 points in a bottom-six role under Peter Laviolette.
He'd played 30 games in the AHL, scoring 23 points (9-14) with the Hartford Wolfpack.
Berard, a former 5th-round pick in 2020, has shown he's more than capable at performing at an NHL level.
Will he get the same opportunity under Mike Sullivan and a retooling New York Rangers organization?
