New York Rangers star Mika Zibanejad makes franchise history against the Winnipeg Jets

Well folks, New York Rangers forward Mika Zibanejad has just inched one step closer to greatness with his game tying goal against the Winnipeg Jets tonight.

As previously stated, the New York Rangers are up against one the NHL's titans right now.

The Blue Shirts got down 1-0, but it wouldn't take long for the Blue Shirts to rally back.

At 11:00 in the first period, Mika Zibanejad took a nifty feed from teammate J.T. Miller in the slot, and Mika Zibanejad wasted no time, netting home his 15th tally of the season.

Interestingly, it was also his 106th power play goal in a Rangers uniform. With that goal, Zibanejad tied Rangers legend Brian Leetch for 4th most powerplay goals in Rangers history.

Being mentioned along side Leetch's name is a massive honour, to say the least.

According to the NHL, he is one of five NHL defensemen to score 100 or more points in a season. He has won the Stanley Cup, the Calder Trophy as the NHL rookie of the year and the Norris Trophy twice as the League's top defenseman. He was captain of the United States tam that won the 1996 World Cup of Hockey.

While fans are pumped for their Swedish forward, the New York Rangers cannot afford to lose this game against the Jets.

Zibanejad will have to come up with a few more goals tonight, or the Rangers risk losing relevacet in the wildcard picture.
