New York Rangers enforcer Matt Rempe sparks major controversy after disrespecting Alex Ovechkin

Wednesday night the New York Rangers faced off against the Metropolitan division leaders, the Washington Capitals and without a doubt the heated rivalry between the two teams continued.

Unfortunately for the New York Rangers, they fell short in overtime as Capitals winger Tom Wilson netted the game winning goal which gave the Capitals a 3-2 victory.

Throughout the night we seen plenty of action from both sides as two brawls broke out during the second period, along with a heated moment between Matt Rempe and Tom Wilson.

Following the game, New York Rangers reporter Mollie Walker of the New York Post , spoke with Matt Rempe and revealed what was said when Wilson approached him.

Now, with Matt Rempe's response to Wilson is sparking controversy amongst fans, as many believe he doesn't have respect for veteran players of the league, while others believe Rempe is just doing his job and laying the body.
