The New York Rangers will face the New Jersey Devils tonight, as the final of two back-to-back preseason games, happens tonight.

With Jimmy Vesey and Ryan Lindgren out of the lineup, Peter Laviolette will have to draw from Hartford and the prospects in the AHL to fill in the gap.
The Rangers have lost a serious contributor on the ice in Vesey who has become a defensive forward, and reliable penalty killer for the Rangers.
In 2023-2024, Vesey played 80 games for the New York Rangers, scoring 26 points( 13 G, 13 A), and had redefined himself and his identity in the NHL.
It has given players like Adam Edstrom who has shown up in a big way during preseason play.
Thanks to players like Edstrom, the Rangers are 3-1 in exhibition play this year.
TOP RANGERS SCORERS IN PRESEASON

Filip Chytil - 4 Pts (2G-2A)

Zac Jones - 3 Pts (2G-1A)

Adam Edstrom - 3 Pts (2G-1A)

Jacob Trouba - 3 Pts (3A)

Also, today Head Coach Laviolette is calling in the big guns, as more veterans will appear on the ice tonight.
Artemi Panarin, Vinnie Troecheck, and Alexis Lafreniere will be on the ice tonight, as they will form the Rangers 1st line.
On the defense, Rangers regulars such as K'Andre Miller, and Braden Schneider will be playing tonight against the Devils as well.
While the team has led a successful preseason, it seems Laviolette is ready to give the veterans, some more ice time before next week.
Can the Rangers beat the Utica Comets tonight?

In the win, both Igor Shesterkin and Jonathan Quick saw their first action of the preseason.
