The New York Rangers are going to be busy at the NHL Draft, according to NHL Insider Elliotte Friedman. He believes that the team will be actively working on trades throughout the two days on June 27th-28th, will the 12th overall pick be on the block?

While the New York Rangers could send the 12th overall pick in the 2025 NHL Draft to Pittsburgh, it appears they won't be doing so.
According to NHL Insider Elliotte Friedman, the team could find themselves working out a trade deal to upgrade a position we can only speculate on at this point in time.
Drury is already working the phones, as chatter suggests, the team will be one of the busier ones during the offseason. The NHL draft appears to be no different.
The work it takes to put the Rangers back into win-now mode could be a herculean task.
But, moving a 1st-round pick could end up being one move that could add significant depth and talent to the lineup.
If you think about it, the Rangers could use it to trade for a useful top-six forward, like JJ Peterka or Matthew Knies, and upgrade a top-six that has been worn down by attrition and low morale.
That cap room could mean adding a significant piece via trade, like a JJ Peterka, Matthew Knies, Ryan McLeod, or, if one can dream, Mason McTavish? Surely the Rangers 2025 draft pick would be in play here.

In the meantime, if Drury does end up moving the 12th OA pick in the 2025 NHL Draft, they'll miss out on possible draft picks like Kashawn Aitcheson or Roger McQueen, who could help build the future in New York.
Instead, as we all know, win-now teams strip down their assets to the bone in order to stay in contention, and the Rangers are no different.
