J.T. Miller Finds The Back of The Net Twice Upon His Return to the New York Rangers' Lineup
The New York Rangers and GM Chris Drury are happy, as today what's old is new again. J.T. Miller, a 15th overall draft pick of the Rangers in 2011, is once again a blue shirt and has produced a goal today.
It's currently the second period of the Rangers' game against the Boston Bruins, and J.T. Miller has found a way to produce offense.
While the team is down by three-goals at the moment, with a score of 4-1 Miller found the back of the net today.
The goal was scored at 10:55 into the 1st period as Miller scored his tenth goal of the season (10) with an assist by
Artemi Panarin (32), giving the Rangers a chance to stay in the game.
Artemi Panarin capitalized on a loose puck in the defensive zone, that
Brandon Carlo failed to clear. He'd pass it to Miller, who'd post himself in front of the net and score the dirty goal.
Along with that Miller also got the New York Rangers their second goal of the night early in the third period:
Before the game, Miller made a statement on how it felt to return back to New York, and suit up with the team who drafted him.
"I'm definitely excited. It's been a long two days, but it's really special putting this jersey back on and obviously it felt good to get one," Miller said. "I'm kind of numb right now so I'm just gonna try and enjoy it."
The goal is just another sign that Miller has fit perfectly into the lineup for the Rangers.
Today, he slotted in on the first line with Artemi Panarin on his left, and
Mika Zibanejad on his right.
This puts him at 36 points on the season (10 G, 26 A) and could be a sign of things to come for the Rangers.
They can stay competitive with Miller in the lineup, and hopefully turn things around in New York.
Unfortunately the Rangers have lost 6-3 to the Boston Bruins.
