Recent reports have surfaced that will ultimately give the New York Rangers a golden opportunity to secure their next head coach after recent announcement.

Earlier this morning, Kyle Dubas and the Pittsburgh Penguins decided it was time to move on from head coach Mike Sullivan, who has been with the team for a decade:
«On behalf of Fenway Sports Group and the Penguins organization, I would like to thank Mike Sullivan for his unwavering commitment and loyalty to the team and City of Pittsburgh over the past decade,» said president of hockey operations and general manager Kyle Dubas. «Mike is known for his preparation, focus, and fierce competitiveness. I was fortunate to have a front-row seat to his dedication to this franchise for the past two seasons. He will forever be an enormous part of Penguins history, not only for the impressive back-to-back Cups, his impact on the core of Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin, Kris Letang and Bryan Rust, but more importantly, for his love and loyalty to the organization.»

Mike Sullivan and the Pittsburgh Penguins agree to go separate ways

Reports quickly emerged that confirms the two parties, Mike Sullivan and the Pittsburgh Penguins, came together and reached an agreement to part ways. Even thought Sullivan still had two years remaining on his contract.
«A thorough search for the next head coach of the Penguins will begin immediately,» the team said. The Pens join the Blackhawks, Bruins, Ducks, Flyers, Kraken, and Rangers as teams with active vacancies at head coach.

As the New York Rangers are currently without a head coach after the firing of Peter Laviolette, many reports surfaced that the organization is interested in Mike Sullivan, even before he left the Penguins.
Without a doubt the two-time Stanley Cup winning head coach will be approached by every single team who is without a coach at the moment, so Chris Drury and the New York Rangers better act fast!
