Gary Bettman and the NHL issue a major announcement that will greatly affect the New York Rangers
The New York Rangers and other 31 NHL teams in the league will benefit from the the latest numbers released by the league today.
The league has given us a detailed outlook of the economics regarding each NHL team's salary cap.
The agreement sets the following annual increases to the Upper Limit, subject to the Collective Bargaining Agreement being in effect beyond the 2025-26 season:
2025-26: $7.5 million
2026-27: $8.5 million
2027-28: $9.5 million
Teams will receive staggering increases will help with the retention of players. And unlike the 2020-2024 seasons, we could see significantly less movement, as players receive better-paying salaries in 2025.
Here's what the salary cap will look like from 2025-2026 to 2027-2028.
This could be a game-changer for some teams who have yet to find themselves in Stanley Cup playoff contention.

Upper Limit: $95.5 Million
Lower Limit: $70.6 Million
2026-27
Upper Limit: $104 Million
Lower Limit: $76.9 Million
2027-28
Upper Limit: $113.5 Million
Lower Limit: $83.9 Million
