New York Rangers top prospect Gabriel Perreault seems to be settling into his new role with the Rangers as the team continues to battle for a playoff spot.

It's been a hectic and whirlwind type of atmosphere for the former Boston College star as he is only been with the Rangers for a week and was playing in the NCAA tournament on March 30th.

Perreault enjoying the moment of being an NHL player

«It's been good, super fast,» the Rangers' first-round pick (No. 23) in the 2023 NHL Draft said Sunday. «Not as much time. Kind of getting settled in more and more each day, so that's been going well Each day I've been getting more and more settled in. It's kind of making it easier day by day, keep going from here.» Gabe Perreault
The difference between NCAA in the NHL is vast when it comes to the speed of the game as Perreault adjusts and amps up his game which can be difficult for 19 year old players.
Over the past few days, Rangers head coach Peter Laviolette had given Perreault top minutes and was placed on the top line between J.T. Miller and Alexis Lafrenière. Perreault Spoke about how fun it was to play with those top players.
«It's been good,» Perreault said of playing with Miller and Lafreniere. «Obviously those are two pretty talented players. I think we've had a decent amount of chances, some good shifts. If I get to keep going with those guys, it'll be good. We'll see, but it's been really good overall. When you're playing with two guys like that, high-caliber, it's pretty fun.» Gabe Perreault

Playoff hopes remain but dimming quickly for the Rangers

The playoff hopes remain for the Rangers though the margin of error is narrowing fast as the Montreal Canadiens have won five straight games and don't appear to be slowing down.
The Rangers will have to win out the remainder of their games to keep up with the Montreal Canadiens and hope that the Habs will either slow down or hit a losing streak.
The team will continue to fight until they are either in or eliminated.
The Rangers will take on the Tampa Bay Lightning at Madison Square Garden on April 7th and game time will be 7:00 PM eastern.
