After 8-years in the NHL this restricted free agent and former New York Rangers defenseman could be leaving the NHL.

Reports have surfaced that 28-year old Tony DeAngelo «has agreed» to sign with the SKA St. Petersburg of the KHL, even though the DeAngelo denied this rumour at the beginning of the summer in hopes to secure a deal with a NHL team, however it doesn't look too promising.
As the Carolina Hurricanes season came to an end, Tony reached out and stared:
"I told (Carolina head coachRod Brind'Amour)my phone's going to be on all summer and if they call, that'd be great and if they don't, I totally understand too. It's a business".

Apparently the Hurricanes were not interested as his phone never rang, and now the Championat website reports that a deal is completed between DeAngelo and SKA.
Last season DeAngelo played 31 games for the Hurricanes, tallying a total of 11 points (3 goals, 8 assists) but served as a 7th defenseman most of the year.
Back In 2019-20 DeAngelo played 68 games with the New York Rangers and managed to put up 53 points, DeAngelo even received a few votes for the Norris Trophy, but finished 12th in the balloting.
