Ex-New York Rangers Captain To Be Traded Once Again: Analyst Links Him To Shocking Team
Former New York Rangers captain Jacob Trouba to be trade once again? NHL analyst Jake Tye of "The Hockey News" believes he just might be returning to the Canadian team that originally drafted him back in 2012, the Winnipeg Jets.

Artemi Panarin potentially hitting the open market, fans are starting to get excited at the about the endless possibilities of where these star players could end up.
However, there are several other players and veterans who will also be a part of the 2026 Free Agent class, one in particular being former New York Rangers captain Jacob Trouba. As his name reportedly stands out to a lot of Winnipeg Jets fans.
Jacob Trouba to go full circle and return to the Winnipeg Jets?
Jacob Trouba is currently entering his last year of his seven-year deal that carries an annual cap hit of $8 million, which he signed with the New York Rangers organization back on July 19 2019, when he was traded from the Jets.
With that being said, Trouba has alway been known for his physical presence on the ice and has shown the ability to also produced up to 30-40 points in a season. Despite having a down year in production last season with the Rangers before being trade to the Ducks.
Jacob Trouba interested in playing for a winning team like the Winnipeg Jets
If the Anaheim Ducks don't start to show signs of becoming a serious contender in the upcoming years, a return to Winnipeg could just be appealing for the 31-year old veteran.
The Jets just might be in the market for a playoff-tested defenseman to strengthen their depth. However, Trouba will have to reduce his cap hit by a fair amount and take a deal ranging from $4 to $6 Million.
