As the 2024-25 regular season comes to an end, the Vancouver Canucks provide a critical update on former New York Rangers forward Filip Chytil, and his health heading into the offseason.

After a very long and frustrating season for both the New York Rangers and Vancouver Canucks, we now have an update on Filip Chytil's status after he took an illegal hit from Blackhawks forward, Jason Dickinson.
Back on March 18th, the former Rangers forward took an illegal and very dirt hit from Chicago Blackhawks forward Jason Dickinson, which resulted in Chytil to suffer another concussion, making it his 5th concussion of his career.

Canuck head coach Rick Tocchet provides significant update on Filip Chytil

After Chytil has been sidelined from the Canucks lineup, and a lack of updates from the Canucks organization, head coach Rick Tocchet finally provided an encouraging update before their final game of the season.
Here's what he had to say:
«I actually just talked to him today, [he] had a smile on his face. He had the concussion, but I don't think it's as bad as it was last year,» said Tocchet today. «We talked about that. I think there's some other things there. He thought he might have had a little bit of a virus that affected that, but he's excited.»

«Three weeks ago, I think it was doom or gloom because what's this, his fourth [concussion] or something? But just talking today, and we'll talk before the exit meetings, he's very upbeat. It's almost like it wasn't as bad as it could've been because of this virus or whatever he had, so that's a positive.»
With the lack of response from the NHL's Department of Player Safety, deciding not to suspend Dickinson for his hit, it's likely the Canucks will take matters into their own hands whenever the two teams meet each other next season.
In 56 games this season split between the Rangers and Canucks, Chytil mananged to tally 13 goals and 13 assists for a total of 26 points.
