Brennan Othmann doesn't hold back as he reveals what the New York Rangers must do to secure playoff spot
The New York Rangers now officially hold the second-wild card spot with 75 points, while the Montreal Canadiens, Columbus Blue, New York Islanders, and Detroit Red Wings all trail behind by two or three points.
Granted all four of these teams have one or two games in hand over the Rangers.
However, the Rangers only eight games are remaining and every point is very critical. So with that being said, Peter Laviolette and rookie
Brennan Othmann have voiced what they need to do for the remainder of the season.
Brennan Othmann reveals the New York Rangers must continue this momentum
Firstly, head coach Peter Laviolette shares that he believes the Rangers are pushing to stay within the Playoff race, despite their season-long struggles.
«I think our guys are pushing,» Peter Laviolette said. «I know we are making it difficult, but I do think guys are pushing.»
While it hasn't been the Rangers best season, they somehow managed to find a way to stay in the playoff race, and at this point in the season it doesn't matter what has happened throughout the beginning, all of that can be forgotten if the Rangers make the playoffs.
Here's what Brennan Othmann believes the team needs to do moving forward, in hopes to keep and secure that wild card spot:
«We just gotta keep this momentum going into the next game, the last eight or nine games going off into the playoffs,» Brennan Othmann said. «Hopefully we can get in with the last wild card spot. We just gotta keep collecting wins, collecting points, and keep playing together as a team.»
