Very scary scenes emerge from the New York Rangers AHL affiliate team, the Hartford Wolf Pack, as their captain Casey Fitzgerald has suffered a brutal cut to neck.

Reports have surfaced this morning that have revealed gruesome details regarding Casey Fitzgeralds injury that he suffered back on December 28th 2024, as the Wolf Pack faced the Providence Bruins.
Casey ended up getting tied up in the corner and tumbled to the ice, and according to Kristen Shilton of ESPN, Casey remained on the ice for another 15 seconds or so after the initial contact and then gesturing repeatedly to his neck.
Unfortunately the worst was confirmed a few minutes later when a player who was not named, from the Providence Bruins told Fitzgerald that his neck was cut after the referee told him he wasn't after inspecting his neck.
He waited until then to ask a referee, "Am I cut?" And the ref, who couldn't see underneath Casey's neck guard, said no. It wasn't until Casey was skating to the bench that a Providence player told him, "Dude, your f---ing neck is cut."

Truly a very scary situation as it was confirmed that the cut was just mere inches away from being a life-threatening cut to his jugular.
Along with that it was also confirmed by Casey Fitzgerald's father, the GM of the New Jersey Devils, Tom Fitzgerald, that his son was in fact wearing a cut-resistant neck guard. Something that's mandated in the American Hockey League.
Thankfully Casey has recovered from this injury and has returned to playing in the American Hockey League. If you would like to see the cut and stitches Fitzgerald had to get Click this link.
