The Rangers management team has been evaluating their players and depth as the March trade deadline approaches.

As always, rumours began to circulate through the web as to what the Rangers will do when it comes time to decide.
One thing is clear, many feel that the team needs to improve their third line centre position as Filip Chytil appears to be in serious trouble health wise and will not be able to play for a very long time.
During hockey night in Canada, 32 Thoughts podcaster and Sportsnet hockey insider Elliotte Friedman explained during his Saturday Headlines that the Rangers will be active in looking for a new 3C.
For several weeks, many felt that Chris Drury will be looking at Sean Monahan of the Montreal Canadiens as a potential solution for the 3C spot.
Monahan has been having a fantastic season after being struck with several injuries throughout his career during his time with the Calgary Flames and then with the Canadiens.
In the past 49 games, he has scored thirteen goals with 22 assists for 35 points. He would be a perfect fit for the Rangers and would help augment their offence.
Friedman explains that It's widely expected that a first round draft pick would be needed to pry him from the Canadiens and questions remain on whether the Rangers want to pay that price to land the 29-year-old centre.
Considering that the Rangers are positioned for a window to win and they have been building for this for the past several years, it's time to push in their chips.
Both men are professionals, I would expect Drury and Habs GM Kent Hughes to find some common ground with Jeff Gorton in the wings as both teams could help each other as they are heading in different directions let alone being in different divisions.
